Swedish esports tournament and production company DreamHack announced it has partnered with gaming hardware brand OMEN by HP (NYSE: HPQ) for Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitions at DreamHack Rotterdam between October 18 – 20.
“We’re excited that OMEN by HP is joining us as DreamHack, with DreamHack Open and CORSAIR DreamLeague as part of it, is about to make it’s Rotterdam debut,” said DreamHack co-CEO Marcus Lindmark. “OMEN by HP is a perfect fit for our professional tournaments as all participants will have access to competitive gaming hardware fit for champions.”
OMEN by HP will sponsor competitions at the upcoming DreamHack Rotterdam event, a $250,000 CORSAIR DreamLeague Season 12 tournament for Dota 2, and a $100,000 DreamHack Open competition for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
“Our OMEN team is ready to help make DreamHack Rotterdam an event that visitors will not soon forget. We look forward to facilitating the e-sporters to get the most of their talent with our Gaming-PC products,” said Hjalmar van Veen, General Manager of Computing at HP Netherlands. “In addition, we will invite all visitors to visit our OMEN booth and take the opportunity to experience our products and enjoy gaming [like] how it’s supposed to be.”
OMEN by HP will become the presenting partner for this weekend’s DreamHack Rotterdam event at the Rotterdam Ahoy convention center in the Netherlands. It is also the first iteration of digital entertainment festival Rotterdam Games Week. Fans that attend can compete in esports competitions, take part in conferences and panels, and participate in the event’s iconic LAN party. The almost sold out tickets are priced at €55 ($61), with a venue that has a seating capacity of 16,426.
