Goodbye Kansas Game Investment has officially re-branded as Amplifier Game Invest. This comes after the company was acquired by Swedish holding company THQ Nordic AB last year, which is now known as Embracer Group AB.
Amplifier fits new circumstances
In a recent statement, the company said this decision was made in order to “better reflect the new ownership, and to clarify the company’s core mission focus.” However, this does not mean the global gaming investment firm is changing their main operations.
“Our focus remains the same – To enter long-term partnerships with talented game developers across the globe and help them to reach their goals,” said Amplifier’s CEO Per-Arne Lundberg as part of the news release. “They are the stars and our job is to amplify their work, team and business.”
Amplifier has partnered with around 7 smaller game studios, most of which are based out of Sweden. These include Tarsier Studios, Palindrome Interactive and Fall Damage. That said, this is a major reason THQ Nordic acquired them to expand their portfolio.
They don’t plan on slowing down developer partnerships anytime soon.
“2020 will be an exciting year for Amplifier Game Invest,” Lundberg adds. “We already view ourselves as the most ambitious and most indie-friendly equity investor in games, and we will continue to work with our current partner studios as well as to help talented teams to start-up their business and invest in already existing game companies.”
