Uconnect Esports partners with Twitch, HyperX for collegiate esports

Uconnect Esports has announced a partnership with Twitch Student, HyperX, and Cooler Master for 2020. The sponsorship platform helps brands connect with esports and gaming organizations at the collegiate level.

It most recently took part in the Austin-based accelerator program Sputnik ATX, which granted them $100,000 through a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) note.

Uconnect Esports in collegiate scene

CEO and Founder of Uconnect Esports, Dylan Liu commented:

As organization leaders of the first generation of collegiate esports, our goal at Uconnect Esports is to open an entire ecosystem for sponsorships and support. Collegiate esports is a new space for many brands and collegiate administrators. We are helping both sides enter the ecosystem while prioritizing students. We want to make sure that these organizations and this ecosystem continue to be led and driven by students, with the support of administrators and brands.

Uconnect Esports is a marketplace that enables brands to sponsor esports and gaming events at the collegiate level. The platform gives companies the ability to activate across hundreds of events and organizations in North America. This includes deliverables executed by the organizations that consist of social media campaigns, physical booths, event support packages, and product sponsorships.

In August of 2019, the company launched with its current alpha platform at the Texas Collegiate Esports Summit. Since then, it has seen the addition of over 120 collegiate esports and gaming organizations across North America. The sponsorship marketplace also facilitated over 160 collegiate sponsorships during Spring of 2019, which saw 8 different brands including Twitch take part.

Activating across hundreds of events

Director of Student and Education Programs at Twitch, Mark Candella added:

Uconnect Esports continues to devote themselves to elevating collegiate gaming and esports clubs in North America. We are proud to continue our support for community leaders who bring students together and create opportunities for each other. Twitch Student will be using the Uconnect Esports platform exclusively this year to sponsor over 100 collegiate esports and gaming events.

Uconnect Esports will also partner with DreamHack on an esports summit series named Collegiate Rising, which will be powered by Twitch Student. This will consist of official collegiate panels and meetups at various events, featuring speakers that range from former collegiate leaders to university administrators.
